Two arrested red-handed while stealing battery

Seraikela: Seraikela police arrested two persons red-handed while carrying stolen batteries from a BSNL tower in Hathitand on Sunday. The accused persons, identified as Pankaj Gope, resident of Road Number 5, Sankosai, Mango, and Govinda Gope, resident of Nimdih, were caught in the wee hours.

According to Chandan Sinha, Superintendent of Police, Seraikela-Kharsawan, the accused persons were caught carrying 18 batteries in a vehicle around 2.30 am. Police had got a tip-off about the accused persons stealing batteries from the BSNL tower. The cops confiscated the batteries along with the vehicle used in the crime, said the SP.
