Two arrested for firing at furniture showroom, coaching center in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two people for allegedly being involved in two different firing incidents.

Superintendent of police (SP) Kumar Shivashish during a press conference said, “We have arrested two people engaged in firing incidents at two different places.”

The SP further added, “A firing incident took place at Sharma furniture, Golmuri on October 3 and the other at the HBSCE coaching center building on September 9.”

The arrested have been identified as J. Rahul and Rahul Kumar Singh. Subashish further added, “J. Rahul and Rahul Kumar are residents of burmamines and are connected to a gang led by Sonu Singh, convicted in the Upendra Singh murder case and Prakash Mishra, involved in the Heera murder case.”  The gang, operating under the alias of Nayan Singh had been targeting local businesses

According to the police report the gang has been using WhatsApp and virtual calls to intimidate local businessmen, demanding protection money. “If demands are not met, the gang resorts to firing at business premises to create fear,” a police officer said. After a technical investigation, the two suspects were apprehended. During interrogation, they admitted to surveilling business activities at the direction of Sonu Singh
