Jamshedpur, Nov. 8: Twin shooting incidents have hit adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district last night. The police are taking steps for nabbing the culprits.
In one of the incident, a 40-year-old man, Shravan Mandal was shot by unidentified gunman at Dumra under Kandra police station area on Saturday, in another incident, 30-year-old youth Pradeep Bhagat was seriously injured by a gang of six assailants at Jagriti Maidan under RIT police station area the same night.
A resident of Raidih Bustee in RIT police station area, Bhagat was passing through the Jagriti Maidan, when a gang of six assailants attacked him.� But when he sensed that there was something wrong there, he started running toward his house, the six chased him and fired a shot, which hit Bhagat’s right hand.
As Bhagat fell on the ground and some people from the neighbourhood came out of their houses close to Jagriti Maidan, the assailants fled the scene.� The local residents had subsequently rushed the injured to Tata Main Hospital emergency for treatment.
Another source revealed that the firing on Bhagat was not a result of the clash over cricket, but was result of a rivalry in land sale-purchase business between Pradeep Bhagat and Pappu Rajak.
The 40-year-old man, Shravan Mandal was shot at and critically injured as he was returning home by riding a bike from a Gamharia-based company where he would work.�
