TV Narendran elected Deputy Chairman of CII Eastern Region

Jamshedpur, March 20: Rear Admiral AK Verma (Retd), Chairman & Managing Director, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers�(GRSE)�Limited, and Tata Steel Ltd Managing Director,�TV Narendran, were�elected�Chairman and�Deputy Chairman�respectively�of CII Eastern Region.�

Their�names were�announced at the first meeting of the reconstituted Eastern Regional Council held in Kolkata on Friday.

T V Narendran, Managing Director, Tata Steel Ltd,�is a Mechanical Engineer from REC (NIT), Trichy. He joined Tata Steel after completing his MBA from IIM Calcutta in 1988.

He is a Chevening Scholar and also attended the Advanced Management Programme in CEDEP – INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. He became the Managing Director of Tata Steel India and South East Asia on November 1, 2013. He is currently on the Boards of Tata Steel Limited, Tata Steel Europe, CEDEP, XLRI and World Steel Association. He is�also the Immediate Past Chairman of CII Jharkhand.

Rear Admiral AK Verma (Retd) is a�Ranchi University�alumnus,�and a�Mechanical Engineer�from National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur,�in 1977,�RAdm�Verma (Retd) served�the Indian Navy for 34 years�before taking charge of GRSE�on�1 November�2011.

After joining Indian Navy, he did�a�Marine Engineering Specialization course from Naval College of Engineering at Lonavla, Pune and Aeronautical Engineering course from Air Force Technical College, Bangalore.

During his career in the Indian Navy, he has held many�important�appointments both onboard as well as ashore including Naval Headquarters, Command Headquarters�in�Mumbai and Kochi, Western Fleet and many operational ships and Air Stations. �Vishist Seva Medal� has been conferred upon him for his distinguished service in the Indian Navy.
