Jamshedpur: The tribals in and around the city are gearing up to celebrate Tusu, the harvest festival, with traditional fanfare and gaiety.
Various social and cultural organisations are preparing to organise Tusu Mahotsav. The annual Tusu mela at Gopal Maidan will be organised on Jan 21.
The event turns out to be a jamboree of tribal artistes and performers not only from Jharkhand but also from neighbouring states like Odisha and Bengal.
Former deputy chief minister Sudhir Mahto, in speaking to the media said that Chowdal the competition Jharkhand, Bengal and Orissa state will be competitive.
The contest winners would be given the award amount. Mahato said that at this tournament Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Shibu Soren and several other ministers will be present as guests.
