Jamshedpur: Tupudang village of South Gadra panchayat under Jamshedpur block will soon be declared an open defecation free (ODF) village. Tata Motors and East Singhbhum district administration have begun putting in efforts to make this possible. A campaign to make the said village ODF
kicked off here on Saturday.
District officials said a time limit of 45 days has been fixed to achieve the goal. A function was held at the Gadra Panchayat Building in this connection. The head of Corporate Social Responsibility for Tupudang,
Vishwa Mohan Prasad announced that as many as 258 toilets would be constructed in the village in the next 45 days.
The chief guest of the function was ADC Sunil Kumar. He praised the efforts being put in by Tata Motors. He said the company would cooperate with the administration to develop several villages in the district into Nirmal villages.
Earlier, the ADC flagged off a Swachhta Abhiyan vehicle of Tata Motors. The vehicle would move through the panchayat to create awareness among the people on the importance of cleanliness.
