Truck driver shot dead in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The city was rocked by a brutal incident on Sunday afternoon when unidentified criminals shot and killed a 40-year-old truck driver near Vasundhara Colony under Ulidih police station area along NH-33 in Mango. The victim, identified as Sanjay Yadav alias Sunny Yadav, hailed from the Baridih locality of the steel city.

The gruesome murder occurred around 12:30 pm while Sunny was getting his truck repaired at a motor garage near Vasundhara Colony. Eyewitnesses reported that two assailants on a motorcycle arrived at the garage and opened fire, unleashing a barrage of six shots at Sunny, who succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

The incident sent shockwaves through the area, prompting curious onlookers to gather at the crime scene. Among them was BJP leader Vikash Singh, who arrived before a police team from Ulidih Thana. The truck’s owner also rushed to the spot upon hearing the news.

Initial investigations revealed two empty cartridges at the scene, prompting the police to launch a comprehensive probe into the murder. Authorities are scouring CCTV footage from nearby establishments in a bid to identify the perpetrators and piece together the events leading up to the crime.

“The motive behind the murder is yet to be determined. We are analyzing CCTV footage to ascertain the identity of the assailants,” stated Anuj Kumar, Officer-in-Charge of Ulidih Thana.

The shocking incident has left the community reeling, with many demanding swift justice for the slain truck driver. As the investigation unfolds, residents remain on edge, hoping for answers and closure in the wake of this senseless act of violence.
