Jamshedpur: A tripartite meeting was organized at Golmuri on Tuesday on the issue of construction work at Kavali ground among representatives of Bharatiya Janata Party, police and the Public Relations Officer of Tinplate Company Uday Pratap Singh.
Notwithstanding discussions on the controversy arising out of a construction work on Kavali ground meant to develop the place, the meeting failed to reach any conclusion.
Sources said the controversy started when the local BJP leader Appa Rao and hundreds of local party members and residents had stopped the construction work on the ground. The SDO of Dhalbhum Suraj Kumar had permitted the work to be continued on giving assurance to the BJP leaders regarding a tripartite meeting on the issue.
The construction was meant for the development of the ground on the lines of Nicco Park, Bistupur, said the PRO of Tinplate Company in todays meeting.
Rao alleged that local residents utilized the Kavali ground for jogging and organizing puja, wedding ceremonies and sports activities.
He said earlier the local residents had requested the then DC of East Singhbhum Dr Nitin Madan Kulkarni to allow local residents to utilize the said ground for public utility.
He demanded that a Kalyan Mandap should also be constructed on the said ground so that people may benefit from it during the wedding season.
