Jamshedpur, May 31 : Jubilation are still rulingresidence of Arjun Munda at Ghodabandha as the newly appointed MP from Khunti was appointed as the Cabinet Minister in Narendra Modi�s Government. He has been appointed as Tribal Affairs Minister.
His mother Saira Munda rejoiced as she watched her son taking the oath live of the television set.� It is really a proud moment not only for us but for the entire Jharkhand,� she said as she clapped.
�We are happy that Munda jee is back in action. The victory of Arjun Munda indicates that people have faith in his rule as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand and also as mass leader. He is a senior leader and deserves such coveted post,� said a party worker.
Munda started his journey with JMM. He has represented KharsawanAssembly seat thrice in 1995, 2000 and 2005. In 2009, Munda got elected for the Lok Sabha from Jamshedpur seat and in his place the BJP fielded Mangal Singh Soy, who won the assembly polls in 2010 by a huge margin. When Munda became Chief Minister and was looking for a seat to enter the state assembly, Soy resigned on November 30 to pave way for his leader.
Aspirations have risen after he sworn in the cabinet. The people of the city are hopeful that their leader who is known for his dare acts would help them to promote development in rural areas.
�Some people have run hereditary politics for decades together and never cared for the development. Munda jee is our representative in the Centre he will work for tribal welfare. Though East Singhbhum district is having good potentiality to grow but the bad conditions of road, water and air is a major hurdle. No leader cared for the uplift of the district. The public are waiting for a change after formation of new Government,� said DikuramHansda, a local political activist.
� In rural areas there was no major development and the people are suffering with poor infrastructure, drinking water, medical and education facilities in many towns and villages justice will be done to the public if only educated and new candidates enter into politics and we are confident that with Munda becoming the Minister our district will progress,� said Shailendra Singh, a local BJP leader.
Hundreds of Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP members and supporters celebrated the swearing-in of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and members of his Cabinet with fervour. They raised slogans as they watched the life telecast of the swearing-in ceremony on a giant LED screen at the BJP office.
A large number of party leaders and supporters had gathered to witness the glorious moment for the BJP and its NDA allies. As soon as the name of Narendra Modi was announced for the swearing-in, the party workers started shouting �Modi-Modi�, �Bharat Mata ki jai� and other slogans. Firecrackers were burnt on this occasion and laddoos were also distributed among people. As a result of celebration, the main road witnessed jam in the evening.
