Ranchi: Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Arjun Munda today said there was need for everyone to treat cancer patients with affection.
He was addressing a gathering during a programme organized under the aegis of Max Foundation and Arts of Living on Sunday.
In his address, he said treating cancer patients with love gave them the courage to struggle with the disease. He said such programmes should be organized on a regular basis.
The former CM welcomed the guests and other invitees and said that their contribution to the programme was praiseworthy. He said willpower and struggle could lead to victory in life despite all odds.
Munda later inaugurated a meeting of the state working committee of the Scheduled Caste wing of the party. He said the BJP was preparing to ensure that a majority government was formed in the state in the Assembly elections. He said the party workers should toil day and night to ensure success of the party in the Assembly elections.
Munda underlined the need for the members of SC community to realize their true potential and convert every situation into a favourable one for their future. He said the party workers should contribute to the success of the party in the forthcoming Assembly polls.
Meanwhile, state BJP spokesperson Prem Mittal today alleged that the state health machinery had completely broken down. He said the Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) had become a den of corrupt activities in the state. He said the hospital had failed to live up to the expectations of the people.
He said incidents of violence on the hospital premises was condemnable and the result of inefficacy of the health authorities concerned.
The BJP leaders further alleged that the government could not repair the sluice gates and canals of the state. The government has failed to help the farmers tide over the drought like situation.
