Transporter shot dead in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Jan 19: In a shocking daylight murder, transporter Santosh Singh was shot dead in the Mango Gurudwara Basti area.

 

 

The incident occurred when Singh was standing near Manan Gali outside his residence and unknown assailants approached him.

As they opened fire, Singh attempted to flee, running towards a nearby house.

However, the criminals were relentless and chased him inside the house, where they shot him multiple times, hitting him in the chest. He collapsed on the spot and died instantly.

Following the brutal attack, the criminals fled the scene, leaving no trace behind. Police rushed to the spot and have sent the body for post-mortem.

Investigations are underway, with authorities examining nearby CCTV footage to identify the assailants.

Santosh Singh, a known transporter, was also reportedly associated with the Congress party.

His elder brother, Jitendra Singh, had previously contested the Jamshedpur West elections as an independent candidate.

The murder has sent shockwaves through the area and police are under pressure to resolve the case swiftly.

“This is a cold-blooded act and we are determined to bring the criminals to justice,” said a police officer involved in the investigation.
