Jamshedpur, May 18: Train services in Chakradharpur railway division will hit for about 10 hours on Saturday due to railway construction work between Gamharia and Sini stretches of Seraikela-Kharsawan.
South Eastern Railway (SER) and Chakradharpur division have issued a notification in this regard. Officials said construction work of two low height sub-way (LHS) between Gamharia and Sini would affect movement of trains in both Up and Down lines. The railway block will begin at 9.15am and continue till 6.45 pm.
Major trains, including Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Superfast Express, Howrah-Barbil Janshatabdi Express, Howrah-Mumbai-Duronto Express on the Howrah-Mumbai route would be diverted via Gamharia and Kandra. The Tata-Gua Passenger and Barbil-Tata Passenger will be cancelled on that day due to the railway block.
The Howrah-Mumbai Geetanjali Express will be short-terminated for over one hour in Chakradharpur division while the Tata-Bokaro Passenger will be rescheduled by one-and-half-hours. The Tata-Bilaspur Passenger leaves Tatanagar railway station at 5.45 pm.
The Tata-Chakradharpur MEMU train will leave Tatanagar 30 minutes behind its schedule departure. The train leaves Tatanagar at 6.40 pm. The Durg-Danapur Express will short-terminated for 30 minutes at the Chakradharpur railway station.
Spokesperson of Chakradharpur railway division, Satyam Prakash said that no freight train will move between Gamharia and Sini during the block period.
Station manager at Tatanagar, O P Sharma said that the passengers must plan their journey accordingly. The movement of trains would be restricted due to work.
“Normal train services would be restored in the evening,” he said. The Tatanagar station assumes importance in view because it is located on the Howrah-Mumbai main route. Several important trains travel via Tatanagar, including the high-profile Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express.
The station sees a daily traffic of 90 mail, express and passenger trains, besides a footfall of more than 60,000 passengers.
