Jamshedpur : Train services on Howrah-Kharagpur and Chakradharpur sections of South Eastern Railway ( SER) returned back normalcy following installation of girders of a road overbridge near Bagnan station. The services were hit in last two days due to the work.
Railway officials at Garden Reach, headquarters of South Eastern Railway said that all the three girders of the road overbridge at Bagnan on Howrah-Kharagpur section were successfully launched yesterday. The task was completed as per scheduled time with the involvement of 500 engineers and other staff.
Officials at the railway enquiry at Tatanagar confirmed that all the Howrah-bound trains including Steel Superfast Express and Janshatabdi Express, which remained cancelled yesterday for the rail block, went on its scheduled time. The Howrah-bound Ispat Express also reached Tatanagar from Titlagarh on its scheduled time and left for its onward journey on right time.
The first train Puri-Howrah Express passed the site where the girders were installed . The first Up train to pass the site was Howrah-Kharagpur EMU Special.
Several passengers travelling on these trains were detained at Chakradharpur on Sunday. A special train was arranged to run from Chakradharpur to Kharagpur for the 300 odd Tatanagar and Kharagpur bound passengers. Moreover, 50 more Tatanagar bound passengers were accommodated by Jagdalpur-Howrah Express.
