Tragic road accidents claim three lives in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In a span of 24 hours, three individuals lost their lives, and as many were injured in separate road accidents in and around Jamshedpur, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced road safety measures.

Head-on Collision Between Two Bikes Kills Youth

Late on Friday night, a head-on collision between two bikes resulted in the tragic death of a youth near PM Mall on Outer Circle Road, Bistupur. The accident occurred around 10 PM when Ravi Ranjan, a resident of Ramjanam Nagar in Kadma, was riding towards Adityapur. According to the police, another bike ridden by Mohammed Kabir, who was accompanied by a pillion rider, came at a breakneck speed in the wrong direction and collided with Ravi Ranjan’s bike.

The impact of the collision flung all three riders apart. A PCR patrolling van rushed the seriously injured to Tata Main Hospital, where Ravi Ranjan was declared brought dead. Mohammed Kabir sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving treatment.

Man dies after bike rams into tree

In a separate incident, a 33-year-old man, identified as Lodhaya Hansda, met a fatal end when his bike rammed into a tree near Badabotla village on the Ghatsila-Dumaria road under Dumaria thana area. The mishap occurred late Friday night while Hansda was returning home after attending a social function. His wife, who was riding pillion, sustained grievous injuries.

Passersby promptly rushed the couple to a nearby primary health center, where Hansda was declared dead on arrival. Hansda, a panchayat Samiti member of Ashtikowali panchayat, leaves behind a bereaved family and community.

Man dies after speeding dumper hits him

In another tragic accident, a middle-aged man named Gangadhar Rana was killed on the spot when a speeding dumper hit him at Maheshpur Chowk under Baharagora thana area late at night. Rana’s colleague, Maheshwar Munda, was critically injured in the incident.

Both victims were rushed to a government-run health center, where Rana succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning. The dumper driver managed to flee the scene with the vehicle, evading capture.

These accidents underscore the pressing need for stringent traffic regulations and public awareness about road safety. The local authorities are urged to take immediate action to prevent such incidents and ensure the safety of all road users in the region.
