Unfortunately, �Habba-Dabba� a form of gambling which has been declared illegal along with other similar �money-swapping� games, has been raising its ugly head in recent times in Potka. The gambling dons are organizing games in different areas of the Block so that their cash flow remains unhindered. Villagers are spending their hard earned money in Habba-Dabba but ending up on the losing side.
With the approach of the biggest festival of Jharkhand, Tusu festival and Makar Sankranti Habba-Dabba has caught on in full swing. According to sources, the mafias organize these games weekly in different areas. On Sunday and Tuesday, the game is organized in the vicinity of the Kalikapur Chewda Mill, on Saturday behind the Bajrangbali Temple in Dhamdhum while on Wednesday and Friday near the road leading to Balijudi village near the government farm. These nefarious gambling games are organized in a manner to avoid police notice.
