Top seeds have it easy at Beldih Club AITA Championship Series

Jamshedpur, July 10: The Beldih Club AITA Championship Series 2017 was inaugurated by Sunil Bhaskaran, VP, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, in presence of Ashish Mathur, MD, Jusco and Kulvin Suri, Chief, Corporate Communications, Tata Steel on Monday.

The Tournament Committee including Rajiv Seth, Tournament Director, Bipul Kumar, Technical Director, Debapriyo Das (Rishi), AITA Supervisor and Atanu Chakraborty, Tournament Referee (White Badge) was also present at the ceremony.

Almost all the top seeds in the Boys Singles Under 14 had it easy on Day 1 of the main draw today, whereas Amaan Wasim, from Bengal and seeded 2 was stretched to his limits by unseeded Ananth Mani Muni of Andhra Pradesh. Wasim managed to enter the pre quarters with a tight 7-6(4),6-3 win over the inexperienced Muni.

In Boys Singles Under 16, Odisha’s Amrutjay Mohanty, seeded 3 did not have to sweat much against local lad Shrey Singh, as the former won by a comfortable 6-2,6-1.

Andhra Pradesh’s Arvind Pemmaraju, seeded 6 in the draw also had a cake walk against Bengal’s Prabhv Mundhra, as Pemmaraju entered the pre quarters by a 6-1,6-1 victory.
