Jamshedpur: The Tata Main Hospital, in association with Indian Dental Association (IDA) Jamshedpur Branch, observed the World No Tobacco Day at the TMH Dental OPD on Thursday.
The function was inaugurated by Dr D P Samaddar, Chief of Medical Indoor Services TMH and Dr K P Dubey, Chief of Medical Support Services. Also present on the occasion were Dr Vinay Krishna, HOD Dept of Dentistry, Dr Gaurav Raj Singh,, IDA President, Dr Eric Liu, Joint Secretary IDA , Dr Charubala, Secretary, Dr Saba Sidiqui CDH, and other doctors of the Dental department and the IDA.
As part of the initiative, screening for oral cancer was done and awareness on the ill effects of tobacco usage was given to the patients. In all around 20 patients were screened and counselled. IDA Jamshedpur through its network of dentists helps the Society in providing awareness and diagnosing the early signs of oral cancer.
