Jamshedpur, June 18: Tata Main Hospital ( TMH) has reported 47 cases of Covid-19 Delta variant during the second wave of the pandemic. The hospital had sent a sample of 100 Covid cases to a Odisha-based laboratory out of these 47 were tested positive of Delta variant. The Delta variant is the most recently designated variant of concern, as classified by the World Health Organization (WHO). That means it’s one of the four variants most concerning to global health authorities because it’s believed to show increased transmissibility or detrimental change in epidemiology. It also pointed to its previous findings that two doses of a COVID vaccine gives a high degree of protection against hospitalisation from the Delta variant.
