Ramgarh, Sept 23: The two day half-yearly conference of Tata Main Hospital’s (TMH) Clinical Society was organized in West Bokaro on September 22 and 23. The event, Knowledge Sharing with Medical Experts, brought together 85 doctors from Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur and various other units inraw material locations including West Bokaro, Nuamundi, Joda, Jamadoba and Haldia, as well as medical experts from Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon, AIIMS, and Tata Manipal Medical College in Jamshedpur.
The primary objective of the conference was to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and the sharing of the latest advancements in the field of medical science. The theme for this year’s conference was ‘Basics and Beyond Bridging the Gaps.’ Tata Steel Vice President (Corporate Services), Chanakya Choudhury was the chief guest while D B SundaraRamam, Vice President of Raw Materials at Tata Steel, was the guest of honour during the inaugural ceremony. Other executives of the company present on the occasion included Anurag Dixit, General Manager of West Bokaro Division of Tata Steel, Dr A K Roy, Chief Medical Officer at Tata Central Hospital in West Bokaro Division, and Dr J Pati, who conducted the program.
The conference proved to be highly beneficial for doctors associated with Tata Steel across all of its operating locations. It played a crucial role in fostering a deeper understanding of medical challenges and bridging the gap between Tata Main Hospital and hospitals in other Tata Steel operating locations.
The two-day conference commenced with a keynote address by Sudhir Rai, General Manager of Medical Services in Jamshedpur, who emphasized the significance of communication in modern medical practice. Prof G Pradeep Kumar, Dean of Tata Manipal Medical College in Jamshedpur, chaired the session as a special invitee. The conference also featured presentations on MBBS papers, DNB posters, specialist presentations, and a panel discussion covering various medical controversies and emerging treatment protocols.
Eminent guest speakers included Dr. Umesh Bhadani, Dean of AIIMS Patna, who discussed electrolyte balance in elderly patients, and Dr.AsafBelal, a Thoracic surgeon from Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon, who spoke about innovations in thoracic surgery, ranging from empyema to lung transplantation.
The conference also featured presentations from Heads of Departments at Tata Main Hospital, addressing the latest techniques and challenges in emergency management faced by doctors in Raw Material locations. Critical topics such as Dengue fever and its complications were discussed in-depth by medical experts.
