Tipper Association protests against directives on sand mining in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 29: Kolhan Tipper (HYVA) Association has come out against State Government�s directives on sand mining in the state. The Government has said that sand should be transported only via tractors and no other big vehicles should be used. In protest against the move, tipper owners have parked their vehicles at Domuhani in Sonari and expressed dissatisfaction against the decision.  

Acting on the directives of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the State Government has also prohibited mining of sand in the monsoon period from June 10 to October 15, 2020.

Satveer Singh Somu, chairman of the association said that the tractors cannot be used for efficient sand mining. The capacity of tractors is less in compere tippers. They are an important tool in sand mining.

The chairman said that the owners of tippers are already reeling under financial crunch due to ongoing lockdown. He said that tippers are also a source of employment for many, the State Government must take immediate action in this regard.    

Satveer Singh Somu (chairman) Kanchan Singh (chairman) Anirban Chakarborty (president) Changez Khan, Sunny Khan, Rana Singh, Krishna Kumar, Ravinder Tiwary,Dilip Sahu,Raju Khan,Vivek Singh, Uttam Mitra, Amit Panday, Sudhir Panday, and Arzoo Khan were present.

Meanwhile, the district mining officers have been also instructed to undertake regular review of sand stock and importance has to be given to completion of government schemes.
