Jamshedpur, October 5: Bollywood actor and BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha on Wednesday said that the people as well as politicians should not indulge in politics when talking about the defence of the country.
We all should stand as one with the spirit of India and with the armed forces and not indulge in petty politics.
Famously known as ‘Bihari Babu’, Sinha is in Jamshedpur for the release of his biography ‘Anything But Khamosh’.
The book was released at a city hotel on Wednesday evening. Later talking to the media persons about the current situation prevailing in the country after surgical strikes of PoK, Shatrughan said that it’s not the time to engrave the wounds but pray for the martyrs.
He appreciated the understanding, strategy and timely action of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that PM has lived up to the expectations of the people of India.
He saluted the Prime Minister and the brave soldiers who are all the time ready to lay down their life for their country. I pray for peace and harmony during the occasion of Navratri, said the actor, adding, war is the last option but it’s not the solution to any issue as mass destruction takes place due to the war.
Talking about his book, MP Shatrughan Sinha informed, that the book depicts the story of the struggle of a person who from the small town of Patna reaches Mumbai. He doesn’t have a filmy background but still he touches heights of success not only in Bollywood but also in politics.
Answering a query, Sinha said, ‘My daughter Sonakshi Sinha is still known as the daughter of Shatrughan but in the coming years if I’m known as father of Sonakshi it will be proud moment for me’, said BJP leader, adding, ‘every parent wants his child to excel in he has chosen, becomes famous and makes his parents swollen with pride’. Talking about Ranchi-Tata national highway, Sinha said, ‘I felt like I have come here jogging’. He appealed for the speedy construction of the road.
Speaking about his political life, Sinha said his good days could come back if NaMO (Narendra Modi) so desires. He however added that he would have been in Congress had Indira Gandhi been alive. He said he was optimistic about his ‘achchhe din’ in politics.
Speaking on the inauguration of Jharkhand, Sinha said that he had proposed to establish Film City on around 400 acres of land several years back. A team from Mumbai was also sent. Former IAS of UP Girija Shankar Dutta had also come, but things did not work out. But my friend Anupam Kher was called at the right time as my name slipped from their mind.
The actor stressed that no artist was above the country. He said he supported the boycott of china lights during Navratri and Diwali, adding that religion was a sensitive issue. Money should be saved and utilized properly, he said.
