Jamshedpur, Oct. 29: A capacity crowd of over 20 thousand people filled the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Monday for the second home game of Jamshedpur FC.

The home team was up against Kerala Blasters FC and within minutes into the game Jamshedpur FC star Tim Cahill scored his first Indian Super League (ISL) goal to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. The crowd went berserk and the stadium was filled with enthusiasm. 20,472 fans were in attendance to cheer the first goal scored by the Australian legend.

‘Cahill has been the marquee signing for the Jamshedpur FC and there have been huge expectations from the Aussie star to deliver and he didnt disappoint tonight’, said a college student Raj Singh.

Cahill didnt score in the first three outings and missed the game against North East United FC which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Jamshedpur FC dominated the first half and Michael Soosairaj scored in the 31st minute to double the delight for the home side.

However, there was a specter of disappointment as both the local lads Gourav Mukhi and Mobashir Rahman sat out warming the bench.

The Red Miners were present in large numbers and cheered every pass or dodge by the JFC players.

School and college kids turned out in droves to get a glimpse of Cahill, Tiri and Co along with some of the big names in Kerala Blasters FC side.

The second half was dominated by the visitors as they scored two goals to draw the match 2-2. This fourth successive draw drained out the euphoria of the first half much to the chagrin of JFC supporters.

‘After 2-0 lead we were pretty much sure that JFC will win the contest after playing three successive draws but Kerala came back strong to draw level after being 2 goals down’, said a CA student Shrishti Agarwal.

Jamshedpur will play the next game against FC Goa on November 1 at JRD Tata Sports Complex.

The fans are considered the 12th man in a game of football, and the Jamshedpur FC fans have and will always give their all in that capacity.
