Jamshedpur, Jan 14: The suspected tigress that reportedly killed an ox and injuring a cow� at Dainmari jungle in Galudih three days ago killed another ox at Basadera jungle in Galudih� on Monday evening.
With another cattle killed at the dense Basadera jungle adjoining Dainmari jungle, it is evident that the tigress which had sneaked into Galudih in Ghatshila sub-division is very much that forest cover.
Divisional forest officer, Jamshedpur, Abhishek Kumar said the killing of yet another cattle took place�on Monday.�
“We have gathered information that the residents of Basadera village had heard the scream of a cattle. Panic gripped villagers had contacted forest guards who discovered the carcass of the ox lying at about half-kilometre-away from Dharagiri fall and about one-an-half kms away from the Basadera village,” said Kumar .
The DFO informed that a team of 20 forest guards carried out an operation and ultimately discovered the carcass.
The fatal wound was in the neck of the ox and it appeared that the tigress had attacked.
The senior forest officer pointed out that with a fresh instance of killing by the tigress, the department has to keep strict vigil.
