Jamshedpur, Apr 6: Ahead of the Ram Navami celebrations, the East Singhbhum district administration has stepped up security across Jamshedpur. On Sunday, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishore Kaushal led a flag march in Mango, Azadnagar and Ulidih police station areas, accompanied by senior administrative and police officials. The march saw participation from City SP Kumar Shivashish, ADM (Law and Order) Aniket Sachan and Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar of Mango Municipal Corporation, along with a large contingent of police personnel.

In preparation for the Ram Navami processions and the immersion of flags by 168 akhadas (traditional religious groups), the administration has mapped out a comprehensive security plan. The city has been divided into 35 zones, including 9 designated as “super zones.” A total of 251 magistrates and 1,188 police personnel have been deployed. Each super zone will be supervised by a super zonal magistrate and a corresponding police officer.

Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal informed that special precautions are being taken in sensitive areas, with the deployment of 135 static magistrates to ensure quick response to any untoward incidents. A 24×7 district control room has been activated, staffed by two officers working in shifts, with an additional officer kept on reserve.

Moreover, 33 extra magistrates have been kept in reserve, with 21 stationed in Dhalbhum and 12 in Ghatshila subdivisions. These officers will be on duty during the 168 Ram Navami immersion processions scheduled for Monday, which will culminate at various river ghats. The processions have been further divided into 7 zones, each monitored by a zonal magistrate and supported by 32 static magistrates.

SSP Kishore Kaushal emphasized that the district police is fully prepared to maintain law and order. All station in-charges have been directed to conduct regular foot patrols and keep a close watch on anti-social elements. In addition to local police forces, personnel from CRPF, RAP and special district units have been deployed. Bike squads and plainclothes officers will also remain on alert during the festivities to ensure public safety.
