Jamshedpur, May 16 : In a shocking mishap, a three-year-old boy was killed and his parents were injured as a scooter he was riding on was hit by a car near Bhubaneswari temple in Telco on Thursday morning. According to information a woman was driving the car that led to mishap.

Following the mishap local residents protested against the reckless driving. The police have seized the car (JH05BQ-9342) after people protested against the reckless driving.

The victim child was identified as Abhishek Kumar, son of Nikhil Singh (32), a resident of Cross Road No 2 in Telco colony.

The child was standing on the scooter which Singh was riding with his wife sitting pillion. As the victims were riding, the car came in a high speed and hit the two-wheeler near the Bhubaneswari temple. The car was being driven by a middle-aged woman who was later identified as Shalini Devi, also a resident of Telco colony.

Though the three injured was rushed to Tata Motors Hospital but the doctors on emergency duty declared the child as brought dead. Nikhil was also seriously injured and admitted at the hospital, but his wife was released after first-aid as she escaped with minor injury.
Officer-in-charge, Telco police station, Akhilesh Mandal said that the car was being driven by a woman, identified as Salini Devi.
