Minors mutilated body found in Adityapur, accused goes traceless
Jamshedpur: In a shocking incident, a three year-old boy was allegedly bludgeoned to death by his maternal uncle in Adityapur.
The mutilated body of the victim, identified as Shubham alias Om, was found in the bushes behind an apartment under RIT police station area of Adityapur early this morning.
The accused, Ashutosh Jha alias Munna, 21, went traceless after the incident and his mobile phone was found switched off, police said.
Sources said the accused had gone to his sisters residence Wednesday evening. There the accused played with Shubham for some time. When Shubham started crying, he took him out to buy him some snacks. Later, when the two did not return, the childs mother tried to call her brother, but found the phone switched off. At night, the family went to Kadma PS and lodged a missing person report. Two police teams led by senior cops searched for the child in Kadma and adjoining areas. Next day, police was informed about a childs body being present in Adityapur. Soon, it was confirmed that it was Shubhams body.
According to police, the accused called up one of his friends before going traceless and said he had taken his revenge against Shubhams family. The accused also said that his sister Rajni Mishra and her husband Dharmendra Mishra used to pass comments against him which he did not like, cops said.
Jitendra Thakur, Officer In-charge of Kadma PS, said Ashutosh may have killed the child brutally in revenge. We are trying to locate the accused by putting his phone under surveillance. The last location of the accused was found outside Jharkhand. A police team has been sent to arrest the accused, he said.
Ashutosh, a resident of Babakuti, Adiyapur, is a private security guard.
“My brother would regularly visit our house and would bring snacks and chocolates for my son. But I had never imagined that he would go to this extent and kill my child,” said the shocked mother of the deceased.
Recounting one incident related to his brother, Rajni said, “We are in state of shock. My brother had slapped my son who cried repeatedly thereafter. I had just told him that if he could not handle a child then he should not mingle with him. This might have infuriated him as he is a very short-tempered person.”
