Three TSAF Jamshedpur climbers qualify for Asian Games 2026

Jamshedpur, April 13: Three athletes from the TSAF Climbing Academy—Aman, Anisha, and Joga—have qualified for the Asian Games 2026. Aman and Anisha secured their spots in Lead Climbing, while Joga qualified in Speed Climbing. More athletes from the academy are expected to qualify in upcoming events.

This success highlights the rapid growth of the TSAF climbing program, which began in 2015 when structured facilities and scientific training systems were limited in the country. The TSAF Climbing Academy was formally established in 2021 with just 10 climbers from local communities in Jamshedpur.

In a short span, the academy has expanded significantly, with over 1,000 climbers across Jharkhand and Odisha, 16 grassroots training centres, and two Centres of Excellence. Its athletes have represented India internationally more than 100 times and have won multiple national championships.

The academy has also hosted major international events, including the IFSC Asian Kids Climbing Championships in 2022 and 2023, and the IFSC Asian Youth Climbing Championship in 2024.

Earlier, two TSAF athletes represented India at the Asian Games 2022. The latest qualification of three climbers further strengthens TSAF’s position as a leading training centre in the country.
