Jamshedpur : Heavy rains in the city also brought tragedies in the city.Three persons, including a 10-year-old boy and a 28-year-old girl were killed in separate incidents at Sitaramdera and Mango.
In Sitaramdera a 46-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy were killed at a boundary wall of a church collapsed in the wee hours today, in Mango an 28-year-old girl was electrocuted while trying to mend a power line at her rain-soaked wall in her house at a residential colony in Dimna.
Those killed were identified as Sunder Samant (46) wife of Late Shivnath Samant, Rohan Puri (10) son of Rajan Puri and Priyabala Biswas (30), daughter of SK Biswas.
The boundary wall of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Sitaramdera collapsed at about 3 am when the victims were in deep slumber.
Rajan along with his neighbours rescued the victims and rushed them to the MGM Medical College and Hospital emergency, where the doctors declared them as brought dead.
Officer-in-charge, Sitaramdera police station, Shushil Chowdhury had visited the spot on getting information about the mishap.
At Mango the incident of electrocution took place at a house at a residential colony in Dimna under Ulidih police station area.
At about 10.30 am, Priyabala who worked in a local call centre wanted to switch off an inverter. But as the portion the inverter had been kept was wet she was electrocuted as soon as she went for pressing its switch.
