Jamshedpur, June 17 : Three absconding accused in the Sanjay Srivastava murder case have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. The accused—Manoj Kumar Prasad, Aarti Devi, and Pooja Kumari, all residents of Driver Colony Gadda under Parsudih police station limits—were produced before ACJM Abhishek Prasad’s court, which ordered their remand to jail.
Earlier, on March 19, police had arrested Anand Prasad, Rohit Kumar Prasad, Ayush Prasad, Sanju Devi, Anju Devi (wife of Manoj Prasad), and Anita Sahu (wife of Santosh Sahu) in connection with the same case.
An FIR was lodged against 14 individuals based on the complaint of the deceased’s daughter, Supriya Srivastava, who stated that her father was brutally assaulted by neighbors using sticks, iron rods, bricks, and stones. She witnessed the attack while cooking inside and attempted to intervene but was stopped and manhandled.
Sanjay Srivastava was rushed to Tata Motors Hospital, where he was declared dead due to severe head injuries. The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to apprehend the remaining accused.
