Jamshedpur, July 7: Three persons died in two separate road accidents on the National Highway 33 in the last 24 hours.
In the most recent incident, a youth died after being knocked down by a goods vehicle near Demkadih under MGM police station area on Sunday.
Sources said the incident occurred when a speeding Tata Magic hit the youth�s bike. The youth was thrown apart on the road. He sustained critical head injury in the incident and died at the scene.
Yesterday, a truck had run over two youths near Barabanki petrol pump under MGM police station area. The deceased were identified as Purno Chandra Karmakar, resident of Luabasa under Govindpur PS, and Budheshwar Singh Sardar, resident of Hurlung under Birsanagar PS. One of the youths was crushed badly by the truck while the other sustained fatal head injuries. They were on their way to Gurma Haat from Dimna Chowk when a truck hit them from the front. Police said the two tried to overtake another vehicle when the truck knocked them down.
