Ranchi, June 4: In a devastating train accident near Bahanaga railway station in Balasore district of Odisha, three passengers from Jharkhand lost their lives, while 61 others sustained injuries. The Jharkhand Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, promptly responded by dispatching a team of officers and doctors to the accident site in Balasore, Odisha, to provide necessary assistance and support to the victims.
Upon their arrival, the team from Jharkhand met with the injured passengers and ensured that they were promptly sent to their respective homes for treatment. Simultaneously, arrangements were made to transport the deceased to their home district. Currently, efforts are underway to identify one of the deceased individuals. The Jharkhand government is actively engaged in extending all possible aid to the injured passengers by maintaining constant communication and offering necessary support.
The heart-wrenching train accident occurred on the evening of June 2, resulting in a total of 275 casualties and over 1,000 injuries. Recognizing the severity of the situation, the Jharkhand government is committed to diligently assisting, providing relief, and facilitating treatment for the victims of this tragic incident. In line with Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s instructions, a delegation comprising high-ranking officials and a doctor, led by the Labor Secretary, visited the site in Balasore on Sunday to gather comprehensive information and offer support to affected individuals from Jharkhand. The team from Jharkhand first visited the Balasore district hospital, where the injured passengers were receiving medical care. They then proceeded to the NOCCI Business Park, where they examined the bodies of the deceased passengers and gathered vital information. Taking swift action, the Jharkhand team made arrangements for the four injured individuals from Godda district to be discharged from the hospital and safely transported back to their homes in Godda. Additionally, preparations have been made to repatriate the mortal remains of the two passengers from Godda district who tragically lost their lives in the train accident. The process of identifying one of the deceased passengers is currently underway
