Three JAP jawans killed in road mishap

Ranchi: Three Jharkhand Armed Police jawans died while four others were injured in a road accident on the Ranchi-Patna route in Koderma on Saturday.

The mishap occurred near Jamukhandi in Chandwara police station area when the four-wheeler carrying the JAP jawans rammed into a petrol tanker coming from opposite direction.

The deceased were identified as Vakil Singh, Rakesh Kumar Singh and Vijay Singh. The injured were identified as Shiv Shankar Pathak, Akhilesh Singh, Kanhaiya Kumar and Hareram Tiwary.

Sources said the incident happened due to high speed of the four-wheeler which collided head-on with the petrol tanker.

The impact was so powerful that three of the victims died at the scene. Others were severely injured. Local residents blocked the main road for several hours demanding compensation for the next of kin of the deceased.
