Jamshedpur/Ranchi, Sept. 6: Jharkhand�s COVID-19 tally has crossed 57 thousand mark on Thursday with the single-day spike of 937 fresh cases, while the number of recoveries surged past 41 thousand, state health department bulletin showed.
Corona positive cases have climbed to 57864. Thursday�s health bulletin also attributed 4 deaths to the disease taking the state death toll to 517.
240 positives and three deaths have been reported from Jamshedpur on Thursday while one each succumbed to the virus in Seraikela and West Singhbhum district. Jamshedpur continues to top the casualty list with 3 patients losing their life on Thursday, till the filing of this report. 72-year-old Jesuit priest from XLRI who was admitted to TMH with breathing difficulties and fever on September 4 died during treatment on Thursday.
40-year-old resident of Shiv Ghat in Jugsalai admitted in TMH on September 9 died on Thursday. Another 48-year-old patient from Chhota Govindpur too succumbed to the virus during treatment. He too was admitted in the hospital on September 9. Three deaths in Jamshedpur on Thursday have taken the death toll to 251.
1114 people have recovered and were discharged from various COVID hospital�s across the state on Thursday. 41985 people have recovered in Jharkhand till date while around 15362 active cases are still present in the state.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally is nearing 10000 mark.
240 new cases were reported on Thursday, September 10 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 9631. 356 people recovered of the virus on Thursday in Jamshedpur.
More than 6352 people have recovered and have been discharged till date. Around 3000 active cases are still present in Jamshedpur.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 240 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Thursday.
According to East Singhbhum administration report, 251 people have died of coronavirus in Jamshedpur till the filing of this report on late Thursday night.
Seraikela reported 57 new cases on Thursday while 38 positives have come up in West Singhbhum.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
The Jharkhand government has extended the coronavirus pandemic-triggered lockdown in containment zone in the state till September 30. However, all the economic activities in the state are allowed outside containment zones.
The hotels, dharmshala, lodge and guest houses reopened after around 6 months following SOPs and guidelines of the government. Restaurants and shopping malls also resumed after a long time.
