Jamshedpur, Jan 10: The annual three-day Rabindra Sangeet Festival began at Rabindra Bhavan under the aegis of the Tagore Society, drawing a large gathering of music lovers on the opening day. Renowned Kolkata-based artist Shabnam Meghali inaugurated the performances with a soulful presentation, followed by acclaimed Rabindra Sangeet singer Rohini Ray Chowdhury. Shreya Guha Thakurta and Shasha Ghoshal also mesmerized the audience with their renditions, creating an enchanting musical atmosphere.
Sharing details about the event, Tagore Society General Secretary Ashish Chowdhury said, “This annual festival brings together the vast diversity of Rabindra Sangeet and aims to connect the younger generation with its rich heritage.” He added that the festival has been held for over four decades, offering audiences an opportunity to listen to eminent artists from India and abroad. On January 10, artists Durga Singh Ray Chowdhury, Sonak Chattopadhyay and Saheb Chattopadhyay will perform, accompanied by noted instrumentalists from Kolkata.
