Three-day Chaitra Parv Chhau Mahotsav 2022 concludes with performances by winning teams

Seraikela, April 13: The three-day Chaitra Parv Chhau Mahotsav concluded with colourful presentations although the audience was limited due to COVID-19 protocols. The festival was inaugurated jointly by chief guest, Padma Shri by Chhutni Mahato, Padma Shri Pandit Gopal Prasad Dubey, Deputy Commissioner Arava Rajkamal, Deputy Development Commissioner Praveen Kumar Gagrai, ITDA Director Sandeep Kumar Doraiburu and Seraikela Sub-Divisional Officer Ram Krishna Kumar. The Deputy Commissioner, in his address, described Chhau dance as, “A holistic and comprehensive art associated with the local art culture that has grabbed international credentials. The state government has ordained Chhau Nritya the status of a state festival.”

 Superintendent of Police Anand Prakash, District Fisheries Officer Pradeep Kumar, District Public Relations Officer Sunil Kumar Singh, Seraikela Block Development Officer Mrityunjay Kumar and Rajkiya Chhau Nritya Academy Director Tapan Kumar Pattanaik. Chhau dance was performed by the artistes after the Mangal sound and tune was played. Apart from the winners of the rural Chhau dance competition, the Chhau dance of Seraikela style was performed by the artistes of the State Chhau Nritya Kala Kendra. On this occasion night Jagran was performed with traditional presentation of dance.
