Jamshedpur: A three day training programme aimed at reviving the traditions and customs of Jharkhand’s age-old culture started off here on Monday at Potka. It was organized at the Paryavaran Kendra in Bada Sikdi village.
During the programme, a number of customary rituals of the tribal people were enacted by young artists through a musical presentation. Those present were appealed to follow the customs and continue them down the succeeding generations.
A large number of youths participated in the programme from as many as 10 adjoining villages that included Netosai, Nutandih, Sohda, Borakanta, Dokarsai, Saregdih, Pichhli and Pandudih.
Social activist Sidheshwar Sardar trained the participants in the tribal rituals.
Others present during the programme included Rangita, Sirla, Rani Basanti, Legda, Kartik, Fakir Sardar, Menka, Sunil Singh, Sukhdev, Sanjay, Basanti, Gauri and Bistu.
