 Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, June 28: Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur plant is scheduled to undergo a block closure once again, with a two-day shutdown planned. The closure will be effective on June 29 and July 1. As June 29 is Saturday and June 30 is Sunday, the plant will remain closed for three consecutive days. Employees will receive half their regular salary during this period, with one day’s pay compensating for the two days of closure, alongside their usual weekly off on Sunday. Normal operations are expected to resume on Tuesday following the closure.

This marks the thirteenth block closure in Tata Motors in 2024, affecting ancillary companies in the Adityapur Industrial Area that are finding operations challenging. The ongoing closures have led to significant losses for regular employees.

Additionally, Tata Motors has commenced the process of making 250 Bi- Six’ employees permanent. The necessary documentation is currently underway to formalize their employment status.
