Three arrested with brown sugar in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, May 29: A significant breakthrough was achieved by the Jamshedpur police as three notorious history-sheeters were apprehended in Mango with 38 packets of brown sugar. Subsequently, they were remanded to judicial custody on Wednesday, with authorities also recovering Rs. 3190 in cash from the trio. The arrested individuals have been identified as Jitendra Prasad Gupta alias Jeetu (35) from Ulidih Shankosai, Vijay Gorai alias Manjhala (26) from Mango Daiguttu Road No. 13, and Rahul Tantubai alias Pelu (22) from Mango Punjabi Line.

DSP Headquarters One, Bhola Prasad Singh, disclosed that Mango Police received a tip-off on the evening of May 28 regarding three individuals involved in the illicit trade of brown sugar near the fish market in the Mango police station area. Acting swiftly on this intelligence, a team comprising Mango Police, patrol officers, and Tiger mobile jawans was assembled.

Upon interception, a search operation was conducted, leading to the discovery of 38 packets of brown sugar and the seizure of Rs. 3190 in cash from the suspects. The total weight of the confiscated brown sugar amounted to approximately 32.4 grams. All three culprits have a history of criminal activities, with Jitendra Prasad Gupta alias Jeetu having been released from jail in February for a prior offense related to the sale of brown sugar.
