Kolkata, March 23 (IANS) Faced with threats and harassment for lodging a police complaint after her minor daughter was molested, a woman in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas attempted suicide by consuming poison.
The incident happened in Ghola area Friday night. Police Sunday arrested a man against whom the woman had filed the complaint.
“My daughter was molested by a young man. After I lodged a complaint, both my daughter and I have been constantly threatened and abused by his associates,” said the woman, now warded in a hospital.
A police officer said: “We have booked a man for outraging the modesty of a woman.”
