Ranchi: Thousands of enthusiastic supporters surged into Ranchi’s streets on Sunday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a spectacular roadshow, covering nearly 3 kilometers in an open, saffron-colored vehicle adorned with vibrant floral arrangements and large cutouts of his image.
Chants of “Modi Zindabad” echoed through the air, filling the capital city’s roads as people of all ages, from children to elders, came out in droves to catch a glimpse of their leader. The Prime Minister, visibly energetic, waved to the sea of supporters, who excitedly clicked pictures and recorded videos, capturing the moment as it unfolded.
The roadshow kicked off at OTC Ground and wound its way to New Market Chowk, drawing throngs of people who lined the streets amid high security. Cheers, claps, and waves filled the air, creating an electrifying atmosphere. This was PM Modi’s second such roadshow in Ranchi this year, following one in early May. The energy of the crowd intensified as Modi’s vehicle slowly made its way along the route, with supporters cheering louder as he passed by.
Seated atop the open saffron vehicle decorated with flowers and his own larger-than-life cutouts, PM Modi acknowledged his supporters, fueling the fervor of the rally. Alongside, the district administration ensured stringent security with prohibitory orders in effect from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. To manage the large crowd, entry of all goods vehicles into the city was restricted between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., while authorities declared a 200-meter “no-fly zone” stretching from Birsa Munda Airport to Sahjanand Chowk, banning drones, paragliding, and hot air balloons.
Earlier, PM Modi addressed rallies in Bokaro and Gumla, where he promised Jharkhand’s people all-around development if the BJP came into power. As Jharkhand gears up for polls, scheduled in two phases on November 13 and November 20, the Prime Minister’s roadshow has ignited fervor across the state, with supporters and party members alike rallying behind the promise of change.
Jharkhand Police was on its toes during PM’s grand roadshow grand roadshow. The state police headquarters has provided Ranchi police with an additional 4,000 personnel, including 11 SP-ranked officers and 30 DSPs, to ensure a smooth and secure event.
For the PM’s event in Gumla, an extra 2,000 personnel, 29 DSPs, and four IPS officers will be on duty. In Bokaro, an additional force of 2,000 personnel, along with 16 DSPs and additional IPS officers, has been deployed.
BJP tribal leaders fear demanding Jharkhand right from Centre: Kalpana
Potka: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife and Gandey MLA Kalpana Soren during a public rally at Potka on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s tribal leaders stating that “they do not have the courage to demand the pending dues of Jharkhand from the Centre.”
Targeting the BJP’s tribal and backward class leaders, Kalapana said, “They lack the courage to demand Jharkhand’s pending dues of Rs 1.36 lakh crore from the central government.”
Kalpana further accused the BJP leaders saying, “They are more interested in Jharkhand’s mineral resources than in the welfare of its tribal and backward communities. BJP failed to recognize the suffering of the tribal woman in Manipur how can they listen to you.”
During the public meeting the Gandey MLA and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) star campaigner highlighted the achievements of the government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
She said, “JMM government has implemented initiatives such as the CM School of Excellence, which provides quality education to children across the state.”
Kalpana added that the government has extended the universal pension scheme to 40 lakh people, provided housing benefits to 25 lakh under the Abua Awas Yojana, and assisted over 55 lakh women through the Maiyan Samman Yojana.
Kalpana asserted that while Hemant Soren is actively raising his voice for Jharkhand’s issues, BJP leaders have not succeeded in securing the state’s rightful share from the central government.
