Ashok Bhagat receives “Sangh Ratna Seva Samman”
Kanhaiya Mittal: “No God Promotes Intoxication”
Jamshedpur, Aug 19: A grand bhajan evening organized by the Har Har Mahadev Seva Sangh at the Sakchi Gurudwara ground drew thousands of devotees on the final Monday of the Shravan month on August 19.

Renowned bhajan singer Kanhaiya Mittal from Chandigarh captivated the audience with his Shiv Stuti, as over 25,000 people gathered to participate in the spiritual event. Attendees were provided with seating, refreshments, and bhog, ensuring a comfortable experience for all. The program, which started late in the evening, continued until late at night.

During the event, Padma Shri Ashok Bhagat was honored with the Sangh Ratna Seva Samman for his four decades of dedicated service toward the upliftment of tribal and underprivileged communities. Additionally, 11 other individuals were recognized with the Utkrishta Samman for their remarkable contributions to society.

Kanhaiya Mittal, who took the stage later in the evening, spoke passionately about the significance of praising deities. He addressed a common misconception, stating, “Lord Bholenath, often referred to as the god of intoxication, never consumed intoxicants. The paste of cannabis was applied to his throat solely to neutralize the poison, not as a drug.”

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including former MP PN Singh, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto, MLA Saryu Roy, INTUC leader Rakeshwar Pandey, former MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar, and former Congress President Bijay Khan, among others.

Notable individuals from various fields, such as healthcare, social work, and literature, were also honored for their exceptional contributions to society.
