Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that the Union budget 2018-2019 is dedicated to the all round development of villages, the poor people and farmers. �This budget is the historic budget of independent India. Today’s budget is in line with expectations and aspiration of 500 million people. The heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the 3 crore people of Jharkhand. Efforts have been made to solve problems of poor, farmer and middle class through budget. This budget is about empowering people. This budget will increase the income of the farmer and improve their economic condition. The step to develop a scheme for storage, processing, marketing for agricultural products is highly appreciated. The Gobardhan scheme will also help in keeping the village clean and increasing the income of the farmers,� he said.

The CM further said that the farmers of Jharkhand state had great expectations from this budget which was completed. Aim to give house to poor by 2022. In urban areas, sanction has been given to create 37 lakh houses. By the year 2020, the state government will ensure roof to every homeless poor of Jharkhand. The Chief Minister was posting his response to the National Budget in the Jharkhand Ministry, Project Bhawan, he said.

Das said that in the budget, the resolution has been taken to convert women from Home Makers into Nation Makers. Expansion of the sense of ‘ease of living’ has also seen in Ujjwala scheme. This scheme is not only liberating the poor women from smoke but also proving to be major medium of empowerment. He said that the target has been increased from 5 crore to 8 crores. Poor, dalit and backward are getting benefit of this scheme at large scale. A sum of Rs 75 thousand crore has been kept in this budget for women’s self help group. Our sisters in Jharkhand are doing well through the Sakhi Mandal. By raising the budget given to the Self Help Group, the government has opened new doors of hope for crores of women.

Das said the PM has always taken a positive initiative towards bringing changes in the lives of the poor since taking responsibility in the centre. �The new health scheme ‘Ayushman Bharat’ presented in the budget will free the poor from health concerns. This scheme will be available to nearly 10 million poor and low middle class families of the country. Approximately 45 to 50 crore people will be in its scope. This is the biggest health insurance plan launched on government expenditure. He said that establishment of nearly 1.5 lakh health wellness centers in all the major panchayats of the country is a very welfare announcement. This will make healthcare very effective and accessible to the people living in the village,� he said.

The CM said road connectivity has been focused in the rural areas under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Now the work of linking the roads of rural and remote areas of the state with schools, hospitals, rural markets and higher education centers will be done. This will change the lives of the people of the village. 70 lakh new jobs will be created in the organized sector for the youth. The government’s attention is also on self-employment. Under the Mudra scheme for small industries, there is a proposal to give Rs 3 lakh crore, not only will the youth get a chance to start a new beginning but also unemployment will disappear from the country.

The CM described the budget as historical that in our country the tax rate of micro-small and medium industries has been cut by 5 percent. Now they will have to pay 25 percent tax instead of 30 percent. There are several plans to help the small traders in the budget.

The CM said that this budget is showing the development of tribals, scheduled tribes and schedule caste. In the budget for the development of Scheduled Tribes, an allocation of Rs 39,135 crore has been made which shows that the Prime Minister is constantly trying for betterment of tribal society. Residential Eklavya schools will be set up for tribals, where blocks of tribals will exceed 50 percent of the population. These schools will be residential schools on the lines of Navodaya. It is a big step for quality improvement in the level of education in children of tribal society.

Das said that there are about 7,000 blocks in more than 700 districts of the country. In this block, emphasis has been laid on the budget for improving the connectivity of modernization of cities, innovation and infrastructure of about 22 thousand rural business centers. He said that in the coming days this center will become the new energy center to increase the economic activity, employment and income of the farmers in rural areas. �This budget will prove to be milestone in the creation of a new India. This budget is based on reality. It will lead the country towards progress,� he said.
