This defeat is a pause, My Life is a struggle, says Banna Gupta

Jamshedpur: India Alliance candidate from Jamshedpur West, Banna Gupta, expressed his gratitude to the cultured voters of Jamshedpur despite his recent electoral defeat. Quoting poet Shivmangal Singh ‘Suman’, he remarked, “This defeat is a pause, my life is a grand struggle. Be it victory or defeat, I remain unafraid. Whatever comes on the path of struggle, I accept it gracefully.”

Gupta thanked the 95,768 voters who placed their trust in him, acknowledging their support for his developmental initiatives. Expressing concern, he stated, “I only worry that the projects I initiated should not come to a halt. Whether it’s the Mango Flyover, the new MGM Hospital, or the world-class bus stand, all these works must continue.”

He highlighted several ongoing projects in Kadma, Sonari, and Mango, including road widening, parks, and community centers, which should not be stalled. Gupta also shared his vision for developing the Domuhani Sangam in Sonari as a tourist destination and urged the people of Jamshedpur to take responsibility for ensuring the continuity of these projects.

Acknowledging the leadership of the Congress and congratulating the party on its remarkable victory in 16 seats, Gupta extended his greetings to Hemant Soren for leading the India Alliance to a significant win.

Addressing his party workers, he said, “We must not waver from the path of duty. Politics is a medium for public service, not a necessity.” He reflected on his journey of struggle, noting that neither politics nor positions came to him as a legacy. “I fought on the streets, raised public issues with determination, and have always been available for the poor, marginalized, and mothers in need,” he added.

Gupta assured that his home and office will remain open to the public, as always. “Be it pensions or any public welfare issue, my office will continue to function as before,” he promised.

Expressing optimism, Gupta concluded, “I am glad we are forming a strong government. Any matter of public interest will be presented firmly before the government.”
