Jamshedpur Sept 20: Thirty six individuals were found to be dengue positive in the district during a sample test conducted recently
The development has raised serious concerns among health officials and the general public, when it comes to the growing dengue cases in the district
According to the latest data available, the district has witnessed a worrying surge in dengue cases. Out of a total of 5955 samples tested to date, a staggering 758 people have been confirmed to be dengue positive. The rapid spread of the virus has prompted authorities to take swift action to control the situation and provide necessary medical care to those affected.
Presently, the healthcare system is under considerable strain as 290 individuals are currently undergoing treatment for dengue in various hospitals across the district. Out of these, 12 patients are admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), receiving critical attention while the remaining 278 are in the normal wards, where they are being closely monitored by medical professionals.
In a ray of hope, it was reported that today, 109 individuals were discharged from the hospital after showing signs of improvement and recovering from dengue. This indicates that, despite the rising numbers, effective medical treatment and care were helping some patients on their road to recovery.
Health authorities are working tirelessly to manage the situation, with an increased focus on preventing further dengue cases. They have been conducting extensive awareness campaigns to educate the public about preventive measures, such as eliminating breeding sites for dengue mosquitoes and taking necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
Local health officials are urging residents to remain vigilant and take proactive steps to protect themselves and their respective families from dengue. This includes using mosquito repellent and bed nets and seeking medical attention at the earliest sign of dengue symptoms, such as high fever, severe headache, joint and muscle pain, rash, and bleeding.
The district administration is also collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure an adequate supply of medical resources and personnel to address the growing demand caused by the dengue outbreak.
