Third gender showcase skills at exhibition

Jamshedpur, May 31: Members of the third gender showcased their skills on Monday at the Third Gender Empowerment program at CWA Old Cable Town in Golmuri. At the event, suit pieces and sarees made by them were on display.

The program was jointly organized by FPA Singhbhum, Utthan Foundation, Jamshedpur, and Subhkamna Foundation. It was inaugurated by Sunita SInha, principal of Gulmohar School, and Govind Madhav Sharan, chief, Urban Services, Tata Steel.

At the event, members of third gender from Kolkata, Odisha, Bokaro and Ranchi were present. Sunita Sinha said third gender is a part of the society and efforts should be made to make them join the mainstream of the society. She said that if they get opportunities they can also be successful in doing business.

Earlier, Padma welcomed the guests, while Rani Maroli of FPA delivered the vote of thanks. Third gender members also presented cultural programs, including dance, which enthralled the audience.
