Jamshedpur : In yet another case of theft a gang of burglars decamped with gold ornaments and valuables worth over Rs 2.5 lakh from a house in Ranikudar under Kadma police station area in the wee hours of Thursday. The police have registered a case of burglary on the basis of an FIR lodged by Vipin Channa.
Channa, a a transporter, said that he had gone to bed at night on Wednesday after locking the entrance from inside. He said the burglars broke open the lock of the puja room from where they had taken the gold ornaments.
The transporter said he was quite alone at the house as his wife has gone to Mumbai to meet his son who studies there.
According to the transporter, the burglars had first dismantled lock of the entrance and had subsequently climbed on the worship place on the first floor and picked up gold ornaments.
After a complaint was registered a team of officer-in-charge, Kadma visited the spot. Officer-in-charge, Kadma police station, Jai Prakash Rana confirmed the burglary.
” We are looking for the burglars. We have registered a case and have started investigation in this regard. From the preliminary investigation, we guess that the criminals involved in the burglary had used an auto-rickshaw and must have followed the victim’s family closely,” said Rana.
