Ten shops gutted in fire in Jamshedpur’s Sakchi market

Jamshedpur: The Jalebi line of Sakchi Bazaar caught fire around midnight. A fire started from the Hindustan art shop, which took a terrible form in a short time and by the time the fire engulfed 10 shops. It mainly consisted of Bombay Band, Calcutta Band, Hindustan Arts, BS Hosiery, Utkal Store and Raj Cosmetics. The fire could be controlled after nearly five hours of hard work. After the incident, debris was completely visible in the area. Shopkeepers looked for some hope in the remaining items.

After the shop caught fire, the night guard of the market immediately informed the Sakchi police station, the shopkeeper and then the fire brigade. After hours of struggling the fire engines of the Government Fire Brigade, Tata Steel and Tata Motors started efforts to control the fire, after which the fire could be completely controlled at 5 am on Sunday. Earlier, people saw the spark from the shop Hindustan Art next to the Bombay Band.

People gathered to attempt to extinguish the fire. Sakchi police station was informed to the police. Police station petrol party arrived. Fire brigade and Tata Steel fire engines arrived. Many shopkeepers also arrived at the information about the fire.

Shopkeepers said that the fire was due to a short circuit or some other reason. Shopkeepers said that they have lost lakhs of rupees. The Bombay Band, clothing and stationery shop suffered significant damage due to the fire. Cosmetic items in shops, medical shops and banded goods were also burnt to ashes.
