Jamshedpur, April 29: As scorching heat enveloped Jharkhand, residents were grappling with soaring temperatures, with Baharagora recording a sweltering 45.2 degrees Celsius. The conditions prompted precautionary measures against heatstroke, particularly emphasized by Jharkhand Meteorological Centre’s scientist, Abhishek Anand.

Despite partial cloud cover providing a brief respite on Sunday, Monday witnessed a resurgence of blistering heat across the region. Jamshedpur registered a maximum temperature of 44.0 degrees Celsius, while Ranchi recorded 39.6 degrees Celsius, and Seraikela reached 45.1 degrees Celsius.

The forecast indicated minimal relief in the coming days, with little expectation of significant weather changes until May 5. However, relief might be on the horizon for northeastern regions such as Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur, and Sahebganj, where rain was anticipated.

In response to the intense heat wave, a yellow alert has been issued for various districts including Garhwa, Palamu, Godda, Sahebganj, Pakur, Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Bokaro, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharsawan on Tuesday.
