Sahibganj: A young man and his accomplices killed a teenage girl after entering her house with a knife in Mufassil police station area near Sahibganj city of Jharkhand late on Monday night.
They also attacked the two brothers of the girl with a knife. Both are critically injured and were admitted to a local hospital for treatment, but were referred to a higher medical center as their condition worsened.
The incident took place between Mahadevganj and Thakurbari Beach. The reason behind the incident is still not clear. The attackers have been identified and one of them is from the neighbourhood.
Some people are calling it a case of one-sided love, while others are calling it a case of mutual resentment.
The name of the girl (17) who died in the attack is Indu Kumari alias Budhiya. Her brothers Lalan Yadav and Baban Yadav were seriously injured.
It was reported that the assailants entered the house between 12 and 1 am and started attacking with knives. Hearing the cries for help, people who arrived tried to catch the assailants, but they all escaped from the spot taking advantage of the darkness.
After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and are investigating. Sahibganj SP Naushad Alam said that police are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
