Ranchi: Members of Jharkhand Power Supply Technical Labourers Association have threatened to go on an indefinite strike in protest of the proposed franchise-based power supply system going to be implemented by the state government.
They said they will be going on strike from 19th May. The outfit leaders announced to start the agitation from 5th May when the outfit members will be gheraoing the office of the general manager of Ranchi Area Board, Jharkhand State Electricity Board to demand cancellation of the proposal.
A series of agitation programmes have been chalked out by the outfit members. A torchlight procession will be taken out from Jaipal Singh Stadium on 18th May in the evening.
The agitation will start next day if the franchise-based system is implemented. Around 3500 staff owing allegiance to the Association will go on strike.
